What began as part of Ranks Africa’s wider editorial coverage of construction, real estate and the built environment is evolving into a dedicated publication of its own.
Introducing CORE Magazine — the dedicated construction and real-estate publication of RanksCORE, created to document the people, companies, projects, brands and ideas shaping Africa’s built environment.
For years, Ranks Africa has used its editorial and recognition platforms to spotlight influential people, businesses and industries contributing to Africa’s growth. Construction and real estate have increasingly formed part of that story — from developers and industry leaders to major projects, architecture, design and investment.
As that coverage expands, the industry deserves greater depth.
CORE Magazine is the next step.
From Ranks Africa to a Dedicated Industry Publication
CORE Magazine does not begin from zero.
It builds on the construction and real-estate editorial work previously carried within the broader Ranks Africa ecosystem and gives it a focused home under RanksCORE — Construction & Real Estate.
The objective is to go deeper into the industry, document more of the people behind it and create a publication that reflects the scale and diversity of Africa’s rapidly evolving built environment.
CORE Magazine will combine recognition, profiles, interviews, projects, companies, industry perspectives, design, development and visual storytelling across digital and print editions.
The People Behind the Industry
Buildings may define skylines, but people create them.
CORE Magazine will tell the stories of the developers, construction leaders, architects, engineers, investors, designers, realtors, project managers, surveyors, entrepreneurs and professionals whose decisions are shaping Africa’s physical future.
Some are already widely recognised.
Others are doing significant work away from the spotlight.
Both matter.
Through interviews, profiles and original editorial features, CORE will document not only what these individuals have achieved, but also how they think, what they are building and where they believe the industry is going next.
The Companies Building Africa
Behind Africa’s construction and real-estate growth are thousands of companies operating across an interconnected value chain.
CORE Magazine will cover real estate developers, construction companies, architecture and engineering practices, property companies, investment firms, brokerages, interior and fit-out companies, facilities managers, PropTech businesses, building-material manufacturers, machinery and equipment companies and other businesses supporting the built environment.
The focus will extend beyond company announcements.
We want to understand the businesses themselves — their strategies, projects, innovations, challenges and contribution to the markets in which they operate.
The Projects Changing Cities
From residential communities and luxury developments to commercial towers, infrastructure, industrial facilities and ambitious mixed-use destinations, projects provide some of the clearest evidence of how Africa is changing.
CORE Magazine will document significant developments through project profiles, photography, architecture, design, construction stories and conversations with the teams behind them.
Not every important project needs to be the largest or most expensive.
Sometimes impact comes from solving a housing problem, introducing a better construction method, transforming an overlooked location or creating a development that changes how people experience a city.
Those are stories CORE wants to tell.
Beyond Real Estate
The built environment is an ecosystem.
That is why CORE Magazine will extend beyond property development into:
Construction • Architecture • Engineering • Infrastructure • Interior Design • Investment • Property • Building Materials • Machinery & Equipment • Commercial Vehicles • PropTech • ConTech • Smart Buildings • Sustainability • Urban Development
From the cement used to build a structure to the technology used to manage it, every layer contributes to the finished environment.
CORE will follow the entire chain.
Recognition Meets Editorial
Recognition will remain an important part of the publication.
CORE Magazine will provide an editorial home for major RanksCORE recognition and rating programmes, including:
CORE 100 — Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People in Construction & Real Estate
and
CORE 5-Star — Recognising Excellence Across Construction & Real Estate.
Special recognition editions will document selected people, companies and projects while giving readers deeper insight into the stories behind the recognition.
The objective is not simply to publish names.
It is to document why they matter.
The CORE 100 Recognition Edition
One of CORE Magazine’s first major editions will be dedicated to the CORE 100 — Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People in Construction & Real Estate 2026.
The edition will bring together selected profiles, interviews, projects and industry perspectives from individuals helping shape Africa’s built environment.
It will serve both as a magazine and as a record of an important period in the industry’s development.
Digital distribution will extend the edition’s reach, while selected print editions will create a lasting physical record for honourees, companies, partners and industry stakeholders.
Digital. Print. Built for the Industry.
CORE Magazine will operate across both digital and selected print editions, allowing stories to reach audiences across Africa and beyond while maintaining the value of premium physical publishing.
The publication will also create opportunities for companies and industry partners to showcase projects, products, innovations and perspectives through clearly identified commercial and partnership opportunities.
Editorial recognition and paid promotional participation will remain distinct.
Documenting What Africa Is Building
Africa’s built environment is changing every day.
New communities are emerging. Infrastructure is expanding. Developers are entering new markets. Technology is changing construction. Investment is creating new possibilities. Architects and designers are redefining spaces.
These developments deserve to be documented as they happen.
Ranks Africa helped provide the foundation.
CORE Magazine now takes that construction and real-estate story further.
A dedicated publication for the people who build, develop, finance, design, manage and transform the places around us.
