For years, Ranks Africa has recognised and documented influential people across industries shaping the continent. Construction and real estate have been part of that wider recognition ecosystem.
Now, as Ranks Corp. expands its focus on the built environment through RanksCORE, that recognition is getting a dedicated identity of its own.
Introducing CORE 100 — Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People in Construction & Real Estate 2026.
CORE 100 is the standalone recognition platform dedicated to identifying and celebrating 100 individuals making significant contributions across Africa’s construction, real estate and wider built-environment ecosystem.
It builds on the recognition work previously carried under Ranks Africa, while creating a more focused platform capable of going deeper into an industry that is fundamental to Africa’s growth.
The People Behind the Built Africa
Africa’s cities are changing rapidly.
Homes are being developed. New communities are emerging. Roads, commercial districts, industrial facilities and infrastructure are being built. Technology is changing how property is designed, marketed, financed and managed.
Behind every development are people making decisions, taking risks, solving problems and building businesses.
CORE 100 exists to recognise them.
The recognition extends beyond developers and construction-company executives to include architects, engineers, investors, realtors, estate surveyors, valuers, quantity surveyors, project managers, interior designers, PropTech and ConTech founders, property and facility management leaders, manufacturers, infrastructure professionals and other influential figures across the built environment.
Impact Over Popularity
CORE 100 is not designed as a popularity list.
Selection is based on demonstrated contribution and industry relevance, with consideration given to:
Industry Impact • Leadership • Track Record • Innovation • Scale & Reach • Professional Credibility • Economic & Community Impact • Future Relevance
Company size, personal wealth, job title or social-media following alone does not determine inclusion.
The central question is much simpler:
What difference has this person made to construction, real estate or the built environment?
From Ranks Africa to a Dedicated Industry Platform
Creating CORE 100 allows the recognition to develop beyond a single annual list.
Each selected individual becomes part of a growing record of the people influencing how Africa is designed, developed, financed, constructed and managed.
Through RanksCORE, selected honourees will be documented through recognition profiles, digital features, editorial storytelling and the special CORE 100 Magazine Recognition Edition.
The platform will also create opportunities to bring members of the industry together through selected recognition presentations, conversations and networking experiences.
Recognition Comes First
Selection for CORE 100 is editorial and assessment-led.
No payment is required to be selected or to remain on the CORE 100 list.
Selected honourees may subsequently choose from optional commemorative and media opportunities, including physical recognition plaques, magazine packages and expanded editorial or promotional features.
These are separate from the selection process.
One Hundred People. One Industry. A Continent Being Built.
CORE 100 will document established industry leaders alongside emerging figures whose work deserves greater attention.
From those building landmark developments to those improving housing, introducing technology, financing projects, designing spaces, delivering infrastructure and creating businesses around the built environment, the objective is to capture the breadth of people moving the industry forward.
What began as part of the wider Ranks Africa recognition ecosystem now has a dedicated home.
