Ejide Akinbiyi, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, MaterialsPro | Nigeria
CORE 100 — Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People in Construction & Real Estate 2026
Ejide Akinbiyi is a Nigerian construction technology entrepreneur and Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MaterialsPro, a digital procurement and supply chain platform transforming how building materials are sourced, purchased and delivered across Nigeria's construction industry. Drawing on her professional experience in procurement, e-commerce and business operations, including her time at Jumia, she co-founded MaterialsPro to address persistent challenges facing developers, contractors and homebuilders, particularly unreliable suppliers, fluctuating material prices, procurement inefficiencies and construction delays.
Under her leadership, MaterialsPro has developed a technology-driven platform connecting builders and property developers with verified material suppliers and logistics providers, improving access to construction materials, transparent pricing and coordinated deliveries. In July 2025, the company reported delivering more than 100,000 tonnes of construction materials, while its 2025 year-end update recorded over 60,000 tonnes delivered during that year and revenue growth of 2.7 times compared with the previous year. MaterialsPro was also recognised among the Top 10 winners of the NSIA Prize for Innovation and participated in the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center's Milestone Makers programme. Beyond building the company, Akinbiyi has contributed to industry discussions on construction procurement, material cost volatility and the adoption of technology to improve project delivery. Her work demonstrates the importance of strengthening the supply chains behind Africa's growing construction and real estate sectors.
